Belgium
A Thanksgiving Weekend Whirlwind

They arrived on November 24, 2005 just in time to share an American-style Thanksgiving meal complete with cornbread dressing and hearts full of gratitude to the Lord for bringing them to Belgium to pour into the lives of university students. They were the threesome: Al Roever and two of his students Bob and Dallas - here only for a weekend but impacting eternity.

After the meal with the Bonin family and their three Missionary Associates the whirlwind continued as Bob and Dallas ministered in the Students for Christ (SFC) group on the campus of Louvain-la-Neuve while Al and Blair drove an hour southwest to encourage the SFC group in Mons, Belgium.

The next afternoon we were all off to the little town of Spa, known for its thermal springs and nestled in the forested hills of eastern Belgium. We arrived at the retreat center and began the weekend of entering into God's presence, sharing wonderful Christian fellowship and hearing what God had prepared for us through Pastor Al.

The theme was, “A Compelling Love, A Compelling Message, and A Compelling Power" and at the close of the retreat there were testimonies of students who were healed of different problems both physical and emotional. And a common element that kept resurfacing was that we can love ourselves - just as Christ loves us. If not, we won't be able to love others the way Jesus commands us to do so. Pastor Al reminded us of C.S. Lewis' declaration that "sometimes we have to go all the way around to get to the simple truth." Another highlight of the retreat was seeing the students step out and express themselves in different ways through song, poetry, and drama (with Dallas and Bob's participation, I believe). The Lord even blessed us with several inches of fresh fallen snow and both the younger and older kids enjoyed frolicking in it.

As always, this annual SFC Belgium retreat proved to be a connection time with the truth of God's Word in the hearts and lives of students who often struggle to be the salt and light they are called to be on this old continent which has long left its Christian moorings. We look forward to more interaction with Heartland School of Ministry and more whirlwinds of refreshing from the Spirit of God.

Letter from King's Castle Ministries

Our thanks to Pastor Ryan Bruss and the team of students he led to El Salvador to work in our miracle campaigns. What a joy to partner with people who are willing to pour out their lives so others can live. Our ministry's theme is "Because the Children Need to Know Jesus." The team's tireless efforts in the communities around zone one of our Central Castillo del Rey church brought that knowledge to hundreds through songs, skits, dramas, and the sharing of the Good News.

God's best to Heartland School of Ministry and our friends there. We look forward to having you here again very soon!

Blessings,

Gary Crump

Letter from His Mission Christian Fellowship in the Philippines

His Mission Christian Fellowship in the Philippines was so blessed to have Virginia Sizer come from Heartland School of Ministry to join us in the Philippines for one month of ministry. Virginia had a great experience in being here. She was involved with everything from embracing and loving on street kids to enjoying community life to being a part of a new church plant in Bolton, a poverty stricken area of our city. Virginia was a joy to have around - she was humble; sincere; and eager to learn and be involved. During her stay in the Philippines she spent a lot of time with Olivia Ruiz, a graduate from our Bible school, doing Bible Studies and outreaches at New Carmen (the dump), Agdao, and Bolton. The things that seemed to have the greatest impact on her was the street kids who come to our services. She spent a lot of extra time with them - feeding them; clothing them; and just loving on them. They knew she was sincere. The last night at His Mission, when she was leaving, she was trying to hold back tears knowing that she wasn't going to see them again, or at least for now! :) It's all for the Master!

Thanks Ryan it was our joy and honor to have Virginia minister with us in the Philippines. We would do it again anytime!

Blessings,
Mike

Belize
A small team of students went to an island off of Belize called Caye Caulker for a month.  Our first opportunity for ministry in Caye Caulker was in Mrs. Eva's standard 6 class.  Her students were graduating and going off to Belize City to go to high school. It is a big change for the 12 year olds with lots of challenges and temptations so we counseled and shared our testimonies with the class and the students individually.  We were well received and were allowed to share the gospel with each class at the school.  During this time we talked to every school age child on the island and were well known walking down the streets.  We had a vacation bible school at the local church and over half of the children attended.  We realized later that this was our open door to the people of Caye Caulker.  The parents were open to anyone that loved on their child.  When going door to door and walking around we met and witnessed to hundreds of people and shared the love of Jesus with them.  We cooked meals, played basketball, showed movies on the big projector (including the world cup) and had the honor of loving and being loved by the people on the island.  We lined ourselves up with the pastor and shared the goal of bringing a refreshing of the Holy Spirit (including salvation, healing and deliverance) to Caye Caulker.  We feel that the time we shared with the Belizean people was a time of stirring up what God has put in Caye Caulker, preparing the way for the LORD.

New Orleans
Letter from Victory Fellowship

I would like to extend my appreciation to you, Heartland Family and Pastor Hill for the team you brought here some weeks ago. Your participation was precious to us as we continue each day proclaiming the goodness of God. We would be unable to sustain the work if it were not for churches like you. A part of you remains with us as Will Carter has decided to stay on for a while. We are thankful that you had it on your heart to come join hands with us “for such a time as this” and hope that you will return many more times in the future. We see this effort continuing for years to come.

For the harvest,
James Weidner
Director of Relief
Victory Fellowship
