What makes HSM different from other Christian schools?
At Heartland School of Ministry we are unique in that we endeavor to provide students with high academic standards as well as creating an atmosphere of revival and the presence of God in each class.

Can I prepare for full-time ministry at HSM?
Yes! Our desire is that every student that graduates from HSM will be equipped to enter full-time ministry.

Does HSM allow students from any religious affiliation?
HSM is a non-denominational Christ-centered school and welcomes students from any denomination.

How much does it cost to attend HSM?
The cost per semester to attend HSM is comparable to other Christian schools. Current cost of tuition for the upcoming semester is $1,800.00

How many years does it take to complete the school?
HSM is a two-year or 4-semester school consisting of 64 units of study.

Is there Financial Aid available?
Although we do not offer federally funded programs, HSM offers limited scholarships, based on available funds, to the students who can prove financial need and who meet the financial aid criteria. All students are guaranteed fair and equal treatment in the awarding of financial aid. A financial packet is made available to accepted students.

What are the requirements for admission to HSM?
All applicants for admission must meet the following requirements to receive consideration for admission. Applicants must have completed high school or a GED. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the semester for which they are enrolling. Applicants must submit a completed application packet along with a $35 non-refundable application fee. Can I receive college credits for attending HSM?
While HSM is not an accredited school, we are privileged to work with a number of colleges and universities of different denominations. We are in the process of developing articulation agreements that will offer our students the option of continuing their education if they so desire.

What is the minimum and maximum age requirement to attend HSM?
Students desiring to attend HSM must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the semester for which they are enrolling. There is no maximum age limit.

Are students required to attend chapel?
Yes. Full time Students are required to attend chapel as it provides an important time of worship and impartation from the various speakers.

Can students go to worship services at other churches, or must they attend Heartland Fellowship Church?
At HSM we believe that being part of a local congregation is an important part of a student's spiritual development, and therefore, students are required to attend church worship services each week. Unless students become involved in another church, it is recommended that they attend Heartland Fellowship Church.

Is my relationship with the staff/faculty of HSM limited to the classroom?
No. Mentoring between staff / faculty and students that goes beyond the classroom is one of the primary distinctives of HSM.

Does HSM accept international students?
Yes.

What are the different ministries that I can be involved in?
There are many outreaches and evangelistic opportunities both local and through traveling teams that a student will be involved in while attending HSM. Through these outreaches, students will receive hands-on training beginning with their first semester. Active, weekly involvement in ministry is a requirement for each semester while attending HSM.

Will HSM take mission trips?
Heartland School of Ministry will be known for taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. There will be numerous mission opportunities both foreign and domestic.

Does HSM have a dress code?
Students are expected to dress modestly as we are representing Jesus. Deviations from modest, Christ-like dress will be addressed on an individual basis.

Does HSM have a curfew?
HSM does not have a set curfew. However, we expect our students to act in a responsible, Christian manner that is pleasing to God and beneficial to their own health and well-being.

Does HSM have a computer lab/research library?
Yes. Our computer lab and library is available for research papers and class projects.

Are students able to live on campus?
We are not able to provide on-campus housing. However, our housing department will assist you in finding lodging in the HSM area.

Does HSM have placement opportunities for students after graduation?
HSM has a placement department to assist students desiring placement in churches, other ministry organizations, or on the mission field with organizations requesting our graduates. HSM does not guarantee placement but will make every attempt to assist students with placement.

What ministry experience does the HSM faculty have?
The faculty consists of passionate, experienced pastors; evangelists, missionaries and teachers who desire to pour themselves into the lives of students.
