The Bordos are neighbourhoods throughout Honduras. It is a general name for the neighbourhoods built around the rivers and are known for their poverty and violence. Many fathers are absent from the lives of their families or spend any earned money on drugs and alcohol. Many children die because lack of food or from eating from the garbage. When I first learned about these areas I began to pray that God would use me in the Bordos. I wasn’t sure how at first but God began to open doors and began to show me His plan.
After I shared my burden with my pastor here in Honduras, he began to pray also. We have come together so that these people can been reached. Every other Friday a translator and myself venture out. We have a discipleship meeting for women and the children always come along as well! Our meetings get larger with each visit. We bring rice, beans and clothing along with the fulfilling Word of God.
At this time we are only able to visit one neighbourhood. I am anxious to see this ministry grow so that we can reach out to the hundreds of Bordos neighbourhoods. After every meeting we have had salvations and healings. God is always faithful in showing us His love and mercy. I pray that many more lives will be brought into the kingdom and I am excited to see revival break out in the Bordos!
