Jared Horton

Serving Nicaragua

Graduated 2011

jared hortonHeartland School of Ministry broke religion off my life and gave me a confidence that God would use me just like he would use anyone else.  My confidence was built from HANDS ON ministry that I experienced at HSM.  It was during school hours when our evangelism team was sent out to rehab programs to minister.  During those times we saw people get hit by the power of God as we ministered and prayed for them.  Just as my life was changed by a demonstration of power, my ministry was also changed by a demonstration of power (1 Cor. 2:4-5). Christians MUST gain a confidence that God can use them.

Heartland School of Ministry also gave me a much better understanding of the word of God. Now when I read the word of God, I read with much more clarity. Heartland School of Ministry is here to help you grow in your gifts and callings that God has on your life!

After graduating from Heartland School of Ministry I spent one year at Terrell First Assembly of God, in Terrell TX, serving as Evangelism Pastor.  During that time, I was also preparing for the mission field in Nicaragua.  In September 2012, I flew to Costa Rica where I studied Spanish for 3 months. Then in December 2012, I took a bus to Nicaragua where I am now serving as a Missionary in the country of Nicaragua.  I am helping a church "Casa de mi Gloria" with teaching, training, and raising up leaders in Nicaragua. We are seeing God do incredible things! You can stay current and learn more at my "Nicaragua Mission - Jared Horton" facebook page.

Josh and Halona Lukyamuzi

A few weeks before graduating from HSM, Josh & Halona went on a 21-day fast asking the Lord to give them direction for the next season of their lives. Out of this fast, they both felt a divine call to plant a church in Austin, TX. For the last two years they have been preparing themselves to launch a new church in North Central Austin. They have shown initiative by attending a Church Planting Boot Camp, completing a vision and ministry plan, launching a website to communicate their vision, and building relationships with local and regional pastors.

Fall 2010, Josh & Halona plan on launching Austin Church Plant in Austin, TX. A church committed to Knowing God, Worshipping God, and Experiencing His Power.

Meggan Herrington

I am living and ministering in the southern state of Tabasco, Mexico as a church-planting missionary. My ministry here focuses mainly on evangelism and church-integration; we win souls and then make sure they get involved in one of the house churches that we've planted. I also work a lot with the youth and plan on teaching English classes to the multitudes of young people that now want to become missionaries. From my base in Villahermosa, Tabasco, I also plan on taking short-term trips into the rebel-controlled mountains of Chiapas, Mexico to minister to those in need there.

Michelle Prendiz

Serving Dallas, TX

Graduated 2007

Michelle Prendiz

Michelle Prendiz is first and foremost a daughter of God who has been saved, healed, and delivered from a life of destruction through the power of Jesus Christ. She graduated HSM in 2007, and then did a third year internship at Teen Challenge.

Teen Challenge is a faith based organization that helps both men and women with life controlling problems. She was later licensed as a minister through Heartland World Ministries and Pastor Steve Hill.

In 2009 She started a ministry called "Valuable In His Eyes." (valuableinhiseyes.com) Michelle wanted a way to connect with young girls that she would meet in "everyday settings."  This would be a recourse they could contact her, connect with her, be ministered to through articles, short videos, testimonies etc, but most importantly meet Jesus and be encouraged in the Lord.

Michelle had previously experienced living and working in the inner city of Los Angeles at the "Los Angeles International Dream Center," with both women and young girls. She served in leadership working with those who have experienced many forms of abuse - girls who were coming out of gangs, prostitution, drugs, alcohol, & many other issues. The desire in her heart began to grow deeper after she left knowing that God had placed her there to set a flame in her heart to one day again reach these broken and hurting girls.

In 2010 she became a part of "Chaplains for Women International" and was ordained as a Chaplain. Currently, she is involved with HSM overseeing the ladies mentoring program bringing in guest speakers for the ladies. She is ministering in the girls juvenile jail teaching life skills classes weekly and is also involved in bringing awareness, prevention, and restoration concerning child sex trafficking.

Michelle's first passion is working with at risk and troubled girls. Her hearts desire is to see young girls find their identity in Christ & to be healed & restored from the brokenness of their past---whether it is comes from being a victim of different forms of abuse, mother or fatherless issues, rejection, abandonment, sex trafficking, or other issues that have taken place in their life. Michelle continues to put Christ first while serving and loving her husband Luis. She continues to encourage and pray with those that are placed in her path on a daily basis "wherever she may go."  Michelle continues to share what He has brought her out of, while fulfilling the great commission Matthew 28:19 & proclaiming Isaiah 61 to the brokenhearted.

Sarah McMichael

Serving the Middle East

Graduated 2007

Sarah McMichael

I was raised in a conservative Christian home and gave my life to God at a young age.  I thought that I understood who God was and what Christianity was all about.  Eager to get out of the house, I moved away to college when I was eighteen.  After leaving the safe haven of my Christian church and home I began to honestly and skeptically consider my life and faith as I had never dared to question them before.

Sarah Simmons

Serving The Bordos, Honduras

Graduated 2008

Sarah Simmons

The Bordos are neighbourhoods throughout Honduras. It is a general name for the neighbourhoods built around the rivers and are known for their poverty and violence. Many fathers are absent from the lives of their families or spend any earned money on drugs and alcohol. Many children die because lack of food or from eating from the garbage. When I first learned about these areas I began to pray that God would use me in the Bordos. I wasn’t sure how at first but God began to open doors and began to show me His plan.
